John R Hunter
A car fanatic since I was a boy, a born again biker in middle age, a sometime motorcycle journalist, I now find myself a bit of a puzzled old curmudgeon, rather than the gung-ho wheelman of my youth. Time … it does that to a chap! I now struggle to make sense of the present motoring landscape … not just the mega-buck supercars, but all cars seem to have prodigious power and speed, yet our governance seems to take an ever more medieval approach to our road policy. Crazy values for classic cars, some of them perhaps worth it, some very certainly clinging to the bandwagon though. Hard to make sense of it all sometimes. Follow me then as I search for motoring’s New Jerusalem, just don’t expect much “dab of oppo” antics along the way!
